Delineation and Genetic Analysis of Crab Larvae Riding on Sea Snakes
With Gustav Paulay, Florida Museum of Natural History, Department of Invertebrate Zoology
January 2023 -
This project focuses on understanding the evolutionary relationships and species differentiation of crab larvae that utilize sea snakes as a mode of transportation. The genetic analysis aims to clarify the taxonomy of these unique organisms, contributing to broader studies on marine biodiversity.
I have been involved in extracting and analyzing genetic material, mastering techniques such as Chelex DNA extraction, PCR, and gel electrophoresis. Additionally, I’ve been responsible for species delineation using phylogenetic trees, and I am now in the process of manuscript preparation to publish our findings.
